Week 24 Update

I went to see a dermatologist about my rash today and she said it was not PUPPS. She prescribed a medicine to use for the next four weeks and then I go back to see if there is an improvement. In the past week, my rash is completely gone from my stomach, but has moved to my hands and arms. I also went back to my OB today and she is concerned that it could be Cholestasis of the liver. They were going to do the tests today but I need to fast for 12 hours before. So I go back next Friday to have several tests ran. It should take about a week and a half to two weeks to find out for sure. I asked her what would happen if that was the case. She said we would have to closely monitor the pregnancy and that the baby would be taken early. She did not want to go in to too much detail until we know for sure. I researched a little online tonight and found that it is common in woman whose mothers and sisters have had similiar problems. Made me a little nervous since Mom experienced liver problems after Kevin was born. So we could use all the prayers we can get that this is not the case! Other than that Carly is great. We did a sono today since her movements have decreased- but it is because she has moved in to a position that her placenta is above her where she is kicking so that is why I feel it less. And I also found out that the scale was off last week. I DID NOT gain 6 pounds- only 2 :)

Week 23 update

I so need to take pictures! I will try to accomplish that by the end of the week.

Well I went back to the doctor today. I have had this itching and rash appear this week that I thought was hives. My doctor thinks it may be PUPPS. Yikes! I looked at the google images and mine does not look that bad so I am praying that is not it. I go to a dermatologist next Wednesday and then back to my doctor for an update.

Little Miss Carly is proving to be a stubborn girl. If you remember when we tried to find out the gender , she would not show us the goods. Then today, every time the doctor found her heartbeat, she would move. This went on for over ten minutes. What we did hear was good, but she obviously wanted to be left alone!

Now for the stats:
  • still measuring about a week ahead but not changing the due date as of now
  • weight gain: 6 pounds (I am blaming it on the Blue Bell banana pudding that will be avoided from this point on). That is a total of about 9 pounds so far so I am going to have to really watch what I eat (NO JUNK) and start exercising more.

So much to do... so little time!

There are so many projects that need to be completed before Carly gets here! I know she won't be here until July, but these next couple of months are the busiest for me at school. Between getting ready for TAKS, science camps, extended learning time- all of my time is taken- even my weekends! And I decided as of right now to go ahead and teach summer school which will mean me working right up until the point of her arrival! I know every time we realize something needs to be done I say to David- we'll do it on Spring Break. So this weekend he and my mom told me to make a list since I can't remember anything anymore. So I made the list and I have to admit- I was overwhelmed.

Here are a few things on my list....
  • clean out the office to make room for all of the "Stuff" in the spare bedroom (soon to be Carly's room)
  • clean out the spare bedroom to make room for Carly
  • clean out a cabinet in the kitchen for all of Carly's stuff
  • clean out the spare bathroom to make room for her bath stuff
  • finish a debt management class I started over two years ago- I will earn some money once I finish!
  • pre-register with the hospital
  • pick paint for Carly's room
  • register
  • go get Carly's furniture
  • make Carly's bling shoes
  • make some hair bows
  • start her scrapbook
I know there is more to the list, but most of the other stuff is work for David and my Dad to do on the house.

Here is what I have gotten accomplished
  • bought materials for making bows
  • bought some stuff for her scrapbook
  • picked up some samples of paint from Home Depot
  • cleaned out the kitchen cabinet (okay David did this while I was cooking last night)
  • we are about half way through cleaning out the two rooms but I am so tired
  • pre-registered with the hospital last night online
  • going to register today
  • made Carly's bling shoes
I am hoping to get those rooms finished tomorrow so we can go get her furniture and start setting it all up. My showers are in May so I want this done before then!

I am a little nervous about registering today because I have no idea where to start or what to get. I did get some great advice from friends and online, but it is a little overwhelming.

And I am going back to the doctor at two so I will update later!

Week 20

I have not had a chance to post about my doctor's appointment last week. Dr. Wagman said that she got all the information from the Perinatal doctor and once again said Carly and I are perfect so far! All of her measurements are a week ahead of our due date and when she measured my belly- once again we're a week ahead! So, she may be here a littler earlier in July :)

We also heard the heartbeat for the first time. (Well Mom and I heard it at the Perinatal Doctor) We have seen it on the sonograms each time, but this time we actually heard it. David talked about it for hours! Later he sent me a text that said "hearing that was the best thing I've ever heard in my life. I love you and her so much." It was so sweet. It is amazing how this little girl reminds us both every day how much we have grown as a couple. He can't wait until next time we go so he can record it on his phone!

I also finally gained weight! I know this should not be an exciting thing for me, but after losing quite a bit with the morning sickness and this big belly continuing to grow I just knew I had to have gained!

We go back the week of Spring Break so I will keep you all posted!
