9 Months!

Already ???

Really...... time can slow down a little.... my baby girl is getting so big so fast!

What is new?

  • Carly has mastered crawling and is all over the place! She is trying to pull up on stuff too.
  • Carly is talking up a storm! Most of it is gibberish but there are a few words that stand out- Mama, Dada, Ba-ba
  • She is starting to drink more and more from a sippy cup. She really likes chew on it - I think it probably feels good on her gums
  • She has started to have a little separation anxiety. She now cries when I leave her in the morning but by the time I reach the car- she is over it!
  • She LOVES toys! She can entertain herself with her toys for hours. Her attention span is definitely increasing!
  • She loves the Gerber puffs and we are now trying people food. She likes mac n cheese and spaghetti. She is not too fond of mashed potatoes.
  • Still NO TEETH! Arghhhhh!!!!!!! Her doctor told me to prepare myself- it looks like they may all come in at once.

Meet My Cousin Jadan

Here we are waiting for Jadan to make his debut

And he finally did. Jadan was 9 lbs 9 oz.
He had to go to the special needs nursery for a few days so I did not get to meet him right away. Here is a picture of our first meeting. I was not really sure what to do when I saw him for the first time so I just looked at him and smiled.
But then Jadan got to come home and I went to his house to see him. This time I decided I would touch him- so I grabbed his head. I think Jadan and I are going to be great friends. I am going to teach him all of my tricks and we're going to get in to lots of TROUBLE one day!
Love,
Carly

8 Months!

1 month

Where does the time go?

Really????

I cannot believe that Carly is 8 months old. Time really does fly when your having fun. She makes every day wonderful.

-still no teeth
- Carly can say "Mama" and "DaDa"
- Carly can sit on her own now- she is still wobbly though
- She gets up on her knees like she is going to crawl regularly, but then belly flops and army crawls
- she really wants big people food :)
- wearing size 3 diapers and 3-6 months clothes. I put a 6-9 month outfit on her today. It is still a little big.
-still waking up around 3 am for a bottle but goes right back to sleep
- on the weekends she will sleep until 11 am if we let her
- she has two new favorite shows: Yo Gabba and Oobi (the weird hand puppet show)

7 Months!

Here is what she is up to.....
  • Carly is now eating level two foods. She LOVES to eat! If you are eating near her she opens her mouth and grunts. She also opens her mouth for a drink :)
  • She is doing the army crawl! She scoots around pretty good. She gets up on her knees and just when I think she is going to take off- she belly flops and scoots on her tummy.
  • She has discovered her toes! And wouldnt you know she puts them in her mouth :)
  • She LOVES to talk like her Mommy. If you are talking and not paying attention to her- she gets louder and louder until you acknowledge her.
  • She has made a few sounds that I think may be words. She says "da da da da" and then once I asked her if she wanted a bottle and she said "ba ba ba."
  • She throws all of her toys down and waits for someone to pick them up. If we don't- she cries until we do. Man she has us figured out!
  • She is teething still but no teeth.
  • She has taken a real interest in her brother Jackson- when he comes near her she gets really excited and kicks and squeals. When I let her kiss him she laughs out loud. Poor Jackson is not so crazy about her.
  • Carly is very nosey. She will break her neck to see what is going on around her.
  • She is also very expressive. She makes the funniest faces with her eyebrows and several strangers have said this to me in public.
  • She has started to wave. Really it is more of a beauty queen wave with her arm straight out, but it is a wave!
  • Carly now does this thing where she hides her face when people talk to her. She tries to act shy but she really is not.
  • I hate to brag but she really is such a good baby. She hardly ever cries unless she is hungry or sleepy. I take her lots of places and people will comment on how good she is. It almost makes me afraid to ever have another baby!

Carly went to her six month checkup a little late. She went at seven months :(

Here are her stats:

Height: 27 1/4 (75%)

Weight: 16 lbs 8 oz (45%)

Head: 45.7 (97%)

SNOW

The last time it snowed I was bedridden with my back so I did not get to take Carly out and take her picture. So this week I was determined to get some photos of her in the snow. She was not too sure about it at first, but once she stuck her fingers in it she started to giggle and smile. Plus my sister's dog kept running around her so she was pretty over stimulated!

Right after she stuck her hand down in the snow

I made her a snowball but she would not hold on to it!

6 Months

I'm still behind! Carly turned 7 months old last Wednesday and I am now doing her six month blog!

What's Carly up to?
-She is rolling everywhere!
- She weighs almost 16 pounds now
- We have not measured her length in a while but all her pants are high-waters so I assume she is going to be tall for her age.
- She has met her first love- ELMO! I know I have talked about Elmo before, but she really has taken interest in him. We watch Elmo on Mommy's phone and she laughs out loud when he comes on.
- She is making lots of noise! She has found her inner scream and finds it funny when everyone stops and stares.
- She is a fabulous eater! Anything we feed her she likes.
- She is just having formula now. With all of the medicine I am on for my back I just did not think it was safe to keep nursing her. She took right to the formula and has had no problem transitioning.
- She loves playing in her saucer. I can actually get some stuff done now :) My parents got a walker but her legs are not quite long enough to reach yet.
- She goes to be around 10 each night and wakes up now every night around 3 am. The doctor says not to feed her but it is a hungry cry and as soon as I feed her she goes straight back to sleep.
-She loves going to Honey's house (her sitter). It makes me happy that she is happy while she is there but I still LOVE picking her up and seeing her get excited to see me.
- With my back problems, Carly has had to get used to other people holding/caring for her. Momma can't do a whole lot anymore :(

Carly is such a healthy happy baby and we are blessed beyond measure!
