Happy 50th Dad!

Friday was my Dad's 50th birthday. After attending my Aunt Ida's viewing we went out to eat with Aunt Sissy & Uncle Ed and Julie and Doug to Red Lobster to celebrate Dad and Ed's birthday. We had a good time. I think it is so ironic that my Mom and Aunt Sissy married two guys with the same birthday, April 17th, which also happens to be their grandfather's birthday. And Jaime and Andy got married on April 17th, so needless to say it is a special day for our family.

Saturday was HECTIC! I had to teach science camp and our bus did not show up. I was stuck outside (school was locked) waiting with 34 kids for a bus. I had to call and get them to send someone and we made it to camp right on time. After science camp, I went to tan, get my nails done, and buy the decorations and balloons for Dad's party. While I did that, David took care of his gift which he did a good job on.

As soon as we got home it was time to get dressed to go. I was a little frustrated because I had a headache and needed a nap, but I managed. We had his party at Ruby Tuesday's at the Harbor in Rockwall. It was very nice, the food and service were great. We were out on the patio enjoying the view of the lake and all the pretty girls in their prom dresses. The kiddos had a good time catching ladybugs.

After we ate we headed to Winstar. My Dad's party had a casino theme because he loves to gamble. We had a great time and did not get home until 7:30 Sunday morning. I lost all of my money, but my husband was lucky! I am not sure how much he won- I think he is hiding it from me :) The big winners were Mom, David and Kevin. The big losers were me, Dad, and Granny. I am not sure how anyone else did. That place was HUGE! I slept until 3:00 yesterday and when I woke up I still had a headache and now I had a sore throat. So today I am sick and exhausted, but thats okay. My Dad had a wonderful birthday with friends and family and his party was a success!!

Pussycat Dolls

I LOVE Britney Spears. Yes I admit it. My sister bought us tickets to her concert and we had a blast! It was not as good as her first, but it was still a great show and I will go again next time she comes! I don't have the best camera, but here are some pics that turned out OK. Her opening act was the Pussycat Dolls and they rocked!

I love trashy tabloid magazines. I subscribe to US Weekly but I tend to buy another magazine each week. I also like perezhilton.com and tmz.com. I also now have a twitter account just so I can keep up with the stars!

Time Flies When You're Having FUN!

Yesterday was a very special day and not just because it was Easter. It all started ten years ago. My friend Kelli asked me to go on a date with her. She insisted I would like the guy that was coming for me. I agreed and waited for my "date" to arrive. Little to my surprise- in walks David Carter. See David and I had a love-hate relationship since middle school- he loved to pick on me and I hated it! I really had not talked to him since I took him to my cheerleader banquet my freshman year and he left with someone else.

Needless to say I was annoyed and almost did not go. But because I LOVE my friend so much I did. After a night of shameless flirting on his part I figured he was not that bad and decided I would give him a chance. Let's just say that it was complicated. He wanted to talk to me and several other girls and I had just gotten out of a long relationship so we decided to date other people as well. So from November to April that is what we did. Looking back I am surprised we stayed together. It was a rough road and lots of drama! I was a little shocked on April 12, 2009 when he came over unexpected. When I walked him out he said something like "what if we only date each other?" I asked him if he meant he wanted to be my boyfriend? He said "yeah I guess thats what I am saying." We have been together ever since and I cannot believe it has been 10 years! Life is not easy and we are still growing as individuals and as a couple but whatever happens I can honestly say that I do not have any regrets. I guess I owe it all to my dear friend Kelli.

I have two webkinz! I know I am a little old for that, but they were gifts from students. I signed them up originally for my class to play with online, but then one of my students sold everything and spent all the money. So now I take care of them....

Really -I like playing the games in the arcade. I also like decorating my house on there and dressing them. I dont play them all of the time, but I do admit to playing them sometime. I have a poodle named Bella and a Dalmation named Spot.

I want to learn to play golf. My Dad plays a lot and I like watching it on TV. I have heard that golf is a game of patience and concentration and I am good at both of those so I should be good right?? Well I also LOVE putt-putt and can beat almost anyone so that makes me think I could do it. I have asked Dad to teach me before but just like when I was little and wanted to play softball he did not think I could do it. He knows how I am not athletic, but that does not mean I cant try?!? David suggested we go next week on Spring Break but I am not sure any golf course wants two idiots out there trying to teach themselves. Maybe I will hit the driving range first!

I want to go hunting. I dont know if I could actually do it, but I have been thinking about it and it is one of those things I might like to try. Maybe I wont shoot deer, but David loves to dove hunt so maybe I can do that because birds are just gross. Tonight at Walmart we saw a pink gun and I told him I wanted it for Christmas. He just laughed. I may just by it for myself and have someone else teach me how to do it so I can shock him one day!! Plus I know someone who would teach me if I asked (: Ha Ha!!! Is it wrong to bling out a pink shotgun!! I always loved that duck hunt game on Nintendo too......

I LOVE my job. There is not a single day I wake up and think " I don't want to go to work today." Call me corny, but being a teacher was really meant for me. The kids can drive me absolutely crazy, but at the end of the day I know it will be worth it. From the time they enter my room on day 1 until the day they leave for 6th grade, they grow so much. I am so proud of all my students, past and present, and I am thinking about all of them that are taking a TAKS test tomorrow.
