25 random things countdown!

I have been reading everyone's 25 random things on Facebook and really enjoying them. It really started me thinking on what all I would put on my "random" list so I decided I would do them one at a time so I can really think about them. Plus it will give me something to blog about so here goes......

Random fact #25

I really love NASCAR! I am not a true fan because I don't watch every race- but when I do I cannot leave the TV. I have this fantasy (don't laugh) that one day I will be a NASCAR wife, you know marry a driver. My favorite parts of the race are before the race when they all stand next to their cars with their wives and children and when they get to victory lane and kiss their wives. In fact, I watched the race last week and there are a few good prospects that appear to need a good woman by their side. I could step in at any time. I already warned David and he thinks I am crazy, but if a driver ever comes my way- we'll have to see.....

The Bachelor

It has truly been a while since I have gotten so into the Bachelor. I really think it is because he is more of a real person and he is a divorced dad and knows what he wants. Let me just say- he is so darn cute! David says he looks like a turtle but I think he is jealous. I hope he picks Melissa from Dallas, not because she is from here, but because she is so sweet. Commercials over and he is about to pick the final two! Blog you later!

Twilight

So when the movie came out my Mom kept begging me to go see it with her. I could not get into a movie about teenage vampires. I just couldn't. Then everyone kept telling me to read the books because they were so good. I kept thinking to myself "why would I want to read these books written for young adults about young adult vampires?" Several kids in my class were reading the first, Twilight, and they are still reading it so that must be a clue it was a little hard for them right? Then my cousin Jaime read them and she told me how good they were. She and I are alike in so many ways so I figured I could at least try.

David and I were shopping at Sams and he wants this stupid book that some guy on Howard Stern wrote. So we went to the book section and looked for it. There I saw Twilight for $7. I thought- ok I will buy it and if I dont like it I will just add it to my class library. I was really busy that week and only got to page 20ish. Then on Friday night I came home and read about half the book- I could not put it down. It is so much more than a story of vampires. It reminds me of Romeo and Juliet (which it talks about in the book)a forbidden love story. I was super busy Saturday and Sunday and too tired to read, but when I laid down Sunday night I thought I will read another chapter. NO- I read the rest of the book and went to sleep around four. At that point I was hooked- so Monday after school- exhausted from staying up all night- David and I set out to find the second book. I finally found it at Target. It was a little slow in the beginning and is more about another male character that I have a hard time liking (he's a werewolf) so It has taken me about two weeks to finish it. But I did finish it last night. Earlier in the week I was at Walmart and decided to buy the 3rd one so I would have it when I was ready for it, but all they had was the Spanish version?!? SO I ordered it online. According to the shipping tracker it was supposed to be delivered yesterday, but we DID NOT get mail. I guess I will just wait patiently.

AND I did go with MOm and David to see the movie. It was good. David even said he wants to see the second one! Here is the link to the trailer.

Hmmmm...

Someone will always be prettier.
Someone will always be skinnier.
Someone will always be smarter.
Some of their houses will be bigger.
Some will drive a better car.
Their children will do better in school.
And their husband will fix more things around the house..
So let it go, and love you and your circumstances.
Think about it!

The prettiest woman in the world can have hell in her heart.
And the most highly favored
woman on your job may be unable to have children.
And the richest woman you know,
she's got the car, the house, the clothes~~~~
might be lonely. And the word says, 'If I have not Love, I am nothing.'
So, again, love you.
Love who you are.
Look in the mirror in the morning and smile and say,
'I am too Blessed to be Stressed and too Anointed, to be Disappointed!'
'Winners make things happen~~
Losers let things happen.'

Yeah for ICE!!

Last night I was sitting at home watching the news like most people trying to see what was going to happen with our crazy Texas weather. I looked at my sister and said lets go shopping! So we went. David was griping "your so dumb why would you go out in this?" We went shopping and went and got our nails done. Both place closed early as we left and I was getting a little annoyed with people freaking out about the ice. There was no ice on the road it was just raining at that point. So then we went and bought groceries and then headed home. I tell you the BEST time to go shopping is during the "winter weather." We were the only people at Dots, the only people at the nail place and later on about eleven David and I went to Walmart and there were 5 cars in the parking lot! Thats it 5!! It was great. I did not have any ice on my windows until we had almost made it home around midnight. Call me crazy but I cannot be cooped up!

So I woke up at five and saw that the temperature was 20 degrees! WOW! I went to the MISD website (because the news channels do not report accurate closings according to our district) and saw NO SCHOOL!!!!!!!!!!!! We never close for inclement weather! SO I went back to bed and just woke up. Now though I am a little frustrated. I hate being behind and now we have to make this day up at the end of the year when we are all so tired! Plus, our principal was going to let us wear sweats today ): Now I look outside and see that it is all gone- no more ice. Hmmmmmmmmm......

And the most hilarious thing about all this is that I realize that in some way I am still a kid. I remember watching the news for hours waiting for my school district to show up on the closing list. As an adult, I am no different. I knew school was closed and I still made David leave the TV on until I saw Mesquite Independent School District scroll across the screen and as I did I giggled and clapped. David called me a nerd but I know he was secretly excited for me too!

More Christmas Pics

I know it has almost been a month ago, but I left my camera cord at school over the break and just now remembered to upload all my photos. Here are a few....

I love the picture of London and the baby we got her for Christmas. She is such a sweet "mommy". Every year when I ask what she wants- she always tells me babies or mateup. (Makeup)

Here are a few pics of our PJ party with Granny.

Then to one of my favorite presents of all time. You know you have been good when you see this under your tree....

I LOVE LOVE LOVE my new purse. Thanks Mom & Dad!

Counting down til April!

I was supposed to leave yesterday for Vegas but there has been a change in plans. Mom and I have been brainstorming what to do for my Dad's 50th birthday this April. We wanted to do something he would really enjoy. He never asks for anything and is always the one who has sacrificed for us or would be happy with just a card so we want to give him a birthday to remember. We decided to take a trip!

I am so excited!!!!!!! It is also my granny's 70th and my cousin Jaime will be celebrating her 10th anniversary. It is going to be a huge family trip and I can't wait!!
